I was looking back on past posts and realized that there is far too much space in between each one lately. To remedy this, I've decided to do a post right now! Yay for me! As for us, we're living life and enjoying the journey...most of the time. I wasn't able to attend the General Relief Society Meeting as I usually do with my mom, but I recorded it on my DVR and I was able to watch it last night. I have to say, it was a good conference! One thing that is awesome about DVR though is you don't have to listen to the singing...shhh don't tell.
I really enjoyed President Uchdorf's talk about Forget Me Nots. It's so true that we tend to put everyone and everything else first before ourselves. I'm not saying we need to be selfish people, but we do need to take care of ourselves. I've found myself waiting for that "golden ticket" to make my life all better at different times in my life. It has taken a lot of growing up for me to realize that there is no "golden ticket" or if there is, it's not going to change my attitude about things. I also liked the part where he said that we're not perfect and Heavenly Father knows that, and that he also knows that the people we think are perfect aren't perfect either. It's so easy to get caught up in comparing your weaknesses to somebody else's strengths. It's a hard cycle to break, but it's so important to realize that Heavenly Father loves us individually, even with our imperfections.
As far as waiting for my golden ticket goes, maybe one day something amazing like that will happen, but I know of at least three things in my life (Dan, Ethan, and Sydney) that are better than any golden ticket could be.
