Between the phone calls from various recordings, endless commercial rants on television, and the mounds of campaign literature that goes straight into the recycle bin at my house, I'm ready for election time to be done. I even had a candidate visit my home on Saturday. He was going door to door to meet as many voters as possible. While I commend the efforts of everyone trying to sway my vote, I've already decided who I'm voting for! It doesn't matter how many leaflets you send, or how many trees you kill to do it, I'm done. Surprisingly, I've gotten much more literature from the democrats rather than the republicans. This was surprising to me because, aren't they supposed to be the "enviornmentalists" out there? Anyway, that's neither here nor there. Granted, I usually vote conservatively. I usually vote republican, but I don't always vote that way. My view is to vote for the person, not the party, at least for the most part.
I am grateful for this nation where we each have the ability to express our own opinion and help choose the leaders here. It's important that everyone go vote. I don't care who you vote for as long as you're voting for who you believe is right. Obviously everyone won't agree on who wins or who each individual is voting for. I hate that everyone has to feel like they have to convert everyone else to their political views. Isn't that taking away from what this country is all about? This country is a wonderful place of varying opinions and different types of people. Others trying to dictate what we believe is not American. I will believe what I will and I will respect your choice to believe what you want, regardless of whether or not it's on the same "side" as me. I won't even try to convert you. I'll just let you be. I wish everyone would let me be. How did the governor get my phone number anyway?
