Just Drive Up...Have A Coke If You're Thirsty

I decided to write just a bit today. What a day. Nothing really unusual, but a cranky husband combined with not enough sleep equals beating the crap out of him (in my head people...no abuse here) at the gym. After that, I was surprisingly calm...imagine that. Anyway, after my workout Dan went to work and Ethan and I spent time together here at home. We watched American Idol and then...insert dramatic pause here...it was time for his bed time! Oh glorious day! I think you love your children more when they're asleep sometimes...

While surfing the Internet after Ethan went to bed, I found some videos online that some of my friends made in high school that my friend, Mikey, posted on Youtube. I watched a bunch of them and suddenly my mood was just a spark brighter. I was brought back to the days of walking to Sinclair for lunch to get a Coke and a hot dog and when my biggest problem was whether or not I had a ride somewhere. Back in those days, Jenny, Moby, Mikey, and I hung out a lot. I have some really great memories of those times. I'm so glad I found those videos. What a great reminder of the days before mortgage payments, student loans, and kids. All I had to worry about then was boys, Coke, and whether or not my parents would let me take our well worn station wagon on the weekend. I love my life now, but sometimes I really miss those moments. At least they're frozen in time in my memory.
