The Bees Are Buzzing...

Well, we got our harvest of honey for this year. We did pretty well. We ended up with about three gallons. We went up to Logan to Mike's house and the boys got the honey out of the hive. Ethan ended up getting stung because some errant bee followed Dan up to the house, but he was okay. Poor kid. I don't think he knew what happened. I love real honey. The stuff in the store is so dilluted...people don't know what they're missing!

Yesterday we went to visit Grampy Keith and Grammy Linda, Dan's dad and stepmom. Keith has a spinner to spin the honey out of the honeycomb. We had a great time over there and had some really good food for dinner. Ethan loved it. He played with the chickens in the chicken run for like an hour and a half! Needless to say, he got a bath...he loved to chase those chickens around. At one point, he was laughing so hard he couldn't even stand up.

So now we have our honey and it is really, really good. I'm glad we have the hive. I've even more glad I don't have to do anything with them. It's Dan's hobby. I just get to enjoy the honey.
